Mission

Kumi Kente inc. aims to represent areas rich in Culture by placing the limelight on those creating luxury goods in underserved areas around the world. Artisans are meticulously selected and their craft is infused to create luxury ready-to-wear.

Within time, we will dedicate a portion of proceeds to develop a non-profit organization that funds the development of these communities in the following areas:

• Health Education
• Efficient Energy
• Agriculture

 

 Sustainability 

When creating each style, our quality team ensures every step of the operation includes mills and other companies that are leading in not only high quality, but sustainability. 

Our main denim mill contributor, Candiani Denim mill located in Italy is leading its industry as the "Greenest textile company in the blue world". As a producer of organic denim, Candiani takes approaches such as sourcing of cotton from the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) organization, whose purpose is to improve overall production for producers and minimize overall harm to the environment.

Currently every garment is an upcycle item. To be specific, we have negotiated the purchase of dead stock denim from our mills that specialize in sustainability. We believe every partner should contribute to our founder's mission.
